The UDS Service Dogs program is excited to announce their first annual Golf Tournament. This event is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the Meadia Heights Golf Club, 402 Golf Road, Lancaster, PA 17602.
This event supports the UDS Service Dogs who train dogs to assist people with mobility disabilities, support individuals with autism, and, through their facility dog program, help students who struggle in the classroom. UDS Service Dogs rely on community support to make their mission a reality. “When we began planning for this event, we had high hopes for success, and then Covid-19 hit and we weren’t really sure what to do,” said Lori Breece Service Dogs Program Manager. “Now that Pennsylvania is in the green phase of reopening, we believe that the Golf Tournament can be a great way for people to get outdoors, enjoy a round of golf and be proud that they are helping individuals in our community who need this vital support. The UDS Service Dogs program has had to cancel several other fundraisers we had scheduled for this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The safety of our golfers and volunteers is of great priority to us and we will ensure that all CDC recommended safety precautions are followed for this event.”
There is a $125 fee per golfer which includes a round of golf, lunch, gift, prizes and awards. There will also be raffles and a live auction. Registration begins at 8:00 am, followed by a shotgun start in the scramble format at 9:00 am. Lunch will begin at 2:00 pm.
