3rd Annual 5k – Run/Walk/Wheelchair Roll by Debra
UDS Extraordinary Give Slider

Wanted:  People Who Want To Have Fun!

When:  Saturday, June 18th – 9:30 – Noon
Where:  HACC Lancaster Campus

2016 marks our third annual 5k event and each year it keeps getting better! We are looking for runners, walkers and wheelchair rollers who want to enjoy a morning in the sunshine and a little physical activity. Ok, so we can’t actually guarantee the sunshine, but we can promise that our puppies will have everyone smiling!

You asked, we listened.
New this year… BRING YOUR DOG!

This year we are excited to be able to extend the opportunity for you to bring your dog to participate with you. Dogs should be well mannered, play nicely with other people and animals,  in good health and up-to-date on their shots. Fido’s registration includes a bandanna. Water, treats, a clean-up station and prizes for the Top 3 “Woof Woof” winners will also be available.

What does it cost to train a service dog?

It costs approximately $25,000 to train a dog from puppy to placement. This includes cost of food, training, medical care and pet accessories such as vests, leashes and activity toys.  We rely on community support to cover 80% of this cost. The annual 5k event is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the UDS Service Dogs and a vital part of helping to ensure the stability of the program.
